In vishacarinio, Carolina Ivonne Caamaño weaves together all her modes, far from fashion, in tune with the web of life. Between the visual impact and the ecological footprint.

She was born in 1986 in Comodoro Rivadavia, Chubut.

 

Sinces her childhood she ventured into dance, music, theater and design, among other disciplines. Her contacts with musicians and artists during her adolescence led her to become involved with the “Do It Yourself” concept.

 

In 2006 she moved to Buenos Aires to study Fashion Design, where she explored the cultural life of the city. Her interest in urban culture, Street Art, Graffiti and designer toys led her towards drawing, which was mixed with the search for textures, new techniques and the recycling of materials. Thus began the making of unique pieces, which tried to capture plots based on unreal worlds.

 

Her career took a powerful turn when she began to make garments and objects with a strong ideological content based on women, social fears and sustainability (recycling of materials).

 

In this context, she won several awards, such as the Grimoldi Award for design and technological innovation in footwear (2010) – standing out for the use of recycling, functionality and aesthetic quality – or the Art Against Discrimination Award (2010) from the National Institute against Discrimination (INADI), where he developed his work “Cage of Birds”, referring to attempts at female oppression from clothing.

 

She was a costume designer for artists such as Alika, Sofia Viola and Dat García. Also has worked creating designs for Joan of Arc and the production company Metrovision. Visha Cariño (name she adopted to make herself known as an artist), has been working with the producer and musician Dat García since 2016, as her costume designer and performer. Together they developed several artistic concepts for an avant-garde and folk-futuristic show, with vast anthropological and social content, with which they participated in WOMEX Finland 2019.

 

In this unique show, Visha Cariño expanded on all the areas she has ventured into throughout her life, from dance and design, to minimalist trash aesthetics, monstrosity, set design and sustainability.

In March 2020, she was in charge of organizing the inaugural event and Women’s Day at the Municipal House of Culture of Almirante Brown, where she presented an installation of a giant vulva for the public as a game and as a psychomagic act. be born back through a textile birth canal.

 

She ended the year developing, together with the performance dance group Manada, a tribute to Manuel Belgrano for Ferrovías at the Belgrano train station, it took two months of work, finally the inauguration was canceled due to the pandemic.
