Mask
Diseño y armado
Design and assembly
Inspired by coral reefs
Materials: scraps of lace and microtulle that I had saved, recycled mattress foam, recycled black pantyhose, beads and beads (I used the ones I had)
2020
This mask was specially created to participate in the #themaskproject competition, curated by @the.curators to support artists from all over the world.
The piece was created from scratch during the pandemic, it took me a month and a half to materialize it, take the photos, etc. It is inspired by nature: in coral reefs, a consortium of amazing organisms that I dream of meeting. I hope that our behavior with nature changes so that the corals do not disappear. Yes, I also thought of @bjork

Once awake, the body takes initiatives, it is no longer satisfied with receiving, with suffering, with fitting in. By becoming aware of our body we grant it an influence over life.

Ñanduti
This technique is really fascinating, and little known, a frame is used as a support but it is a fabric similar to that of a spider, it is suspended in the web.
Ñandutí (spider web in Guaraní), Ñandutí, is not an indigenous and pre-Columbian technique, but the result of the technique, the thread and the needle from Spain, and the skill and imagination of Paraguayan women. It combines lace from Tenerife (Canary Islands), which arrived with colonization in the 17th and 18th centuries.
Juana de Arco is an Argentine brand that since its inception has included Ñanduti fabrics in its garments (in the photos some of the work I did for the brand), many of these pieces were sold in Japan where this work is highly valued and Her beauty.

Cyclic logic
A simple idea in principle. A while ago I wanted to merge movement and textiles, I just needed the right company. Together with Ceci we put together a one-year schedule, with small objectives, we both have a thousand things to take care of, but we know how to dedicate just enough time every day to pure organization and communication.
We were solving what was presented, without getting ahead of ourselves, organically. After doing a kind of casting where we put the fabric prostheses and movement patterns to the test, we chose 5 performers with whom we formed a team. We have been working for several months, we participated in the do dance festival where we were finally able to see the material on stage and we received very good comments. We spent hours in front of a computer, we signed up for all the related calls, some of them didn’t give us any answers. This is how we became part of Danza en Tecnopolis 2022.
Estoy muy manija
Acorazades is in process, and surely that wardrobe will change, mutate for one that is superior. We work with the material available from our bodies and what humanity created and discarded. It relieves me to know that I am constantly changing, and to be part of such a beautiful project, I invite you to the newly opened instagram, darlings.
